Appointments are virtual only, with one exception: exposure intensives take place in person, in the community or in your home. Virtual individual therapy means you can meet from anywhere in Texas with no commute and no waiting room.
In this current phase of life, I see clients during school-day hours (Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 3 PM). If those hours work for you, I'd love to talk. Start with a free 15-minute consultation and we'll find a time that fits.
We'll start with an intake and some assessments so I can understand what's going on, then build a collaborative treatment plan together. Most clients begin with weekly sessions and taper as things improve. ACT and ERP are active approaches — you'll practice skills both during our sessions and between them. This work tends to fit best with people who are willing to try one small step at a time. Many of my clients are LGBTQ+, young adults, or parents.
I stay in ongoing ERP consultation groups with other OCD therapists (everything deidentified), attend conferences, and keep up with current research. I pursue continuing education on OCD and anxiety, HRT for BFRBs, WET for trauma, and affirming care for LGBTQ+ clients — and I'm currently completing Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) training for trauma. Honestly, I learn a lot from my clients, too.
Yes — I take most major insurances for individual therapy, including:
Aetna · Cigna · UnitedHealthcare · Optum · Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas · Oscar · Oxford Health Plans · Meritain · UMR · Surest
I also accept EAP (Employee Assistance Program) benefits.
Intensives are above and beyond what insurance will cover, so those are cash pay only.
That's a personal decision, and there are good reasons some people choose to pay privately: more privacy (no diagnosis on your insurance record), no session limits or treatment decisions shaped by your plan, and more control over your care. If cost is a concern, I offer a limited number of sliding scale spaces, and I can provide superbills for possible out-of-network reimbursement. We can talk through the tradeoffs in your free consultation.
Yes. If I'm out of network with your plan, I can provide a superbill, which is a detailed receipt you can submit to your insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement. My cash pay rate is $145 per session, and a sliding scale is available based on financial need.
